S. Peter's Fair 2008

This year we started the week with a Sermon from the Suffragen Bishop of Plymouth John Ford, who spoke to us about service after examining the ambition of S James and S.John.

The Court Leat held a meeting after the Civic Service at which the Rector who is Deputy Pinder (Sheep Gatherer) offered to speak on his Guerrilla Dog, who helps to tidy up the town by collecting Beer Cans, etc.

The Court Leat is held on Tusday 8th July at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall at Holsworthy. The Pretty Maid Ceremony is held the next day at the site of the Old Tree of Holsworthy and the Fair is opened. At 12noon the Pretty Maid is declared to the Town at the Church Tower, and the Festivities begin.

A photographic Exhibition is held this year in the Church Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and Strawberry Teas with Cream, and a Cake stall will be held in the Church, with grateful assistance from helpers and volunteers.

The Churchwardens, have kindly composed a Pet's Service to be held on Sunday 13th at 3pm for the first time in Church. All are welcome.
